Your kids work on their course at their own pace on their own time. We have no deadlines, and no one has to show up for a class on a specific day or time.
Our lessons, audios, videos, resource articles, templates and completed work samples are all pre-loaded into our online learning platform. Your teen gets access when they register for the course.

Writing Rockstars’ founder, Lily Iatridis, received her Masters in Secondary Teaching in 1996, and worked as a teacher in both public and private schools for 14 years, including two years abroad. For the past 10 years, she’s taught online.

Who this program is for…
Essay Rockstar was designed to be a homeschool writing curriculum. BUT we serve ANY college bound teens who don’t get the writing skills training they need at school.
All too often, brick and mortar schools focus too much on teaching content information and not enough on skills training…
Especially writing skills training teens need to succeed in college!
Essay Rockstar is NOT for...
Kids who ARE NOT able to write a full paragraph on their own.
We teach multi-paragraph essay writing. Kids who haven’t mastered the paragraph won’t be successful in our program.
When we find one of our students isn’t ready for Essay Rockstar yet, we issue a full refund and invite them to return at a later time.
Our students generally range in age from 13 to 18 years. When our teachers identify advanced writers, they adjust the assignments so all our students are challenged.
Our worldview is neutral. Students pick their own topics for their essays, and
our teachers have no opinions on the topics chosen.

In our full-semester program, students learn how to write four types of non-fiction essays using a five-step writing composition process.
Our proven five-step process includes
Brainstorming, Organizing Ideas, Free Writing, Revision, and Final Editing.
Personal Statement
Autobiographical writing is always one of the essay requests in every college application. Writing about oneself can be awkward and challenging, but we coax it out of your kids! We teach your kids to write a personal statement that demonstrates their individuality as well as strong writing skills.
Persuasive Essay
This type of writing assignment is regularly encountered in school and beyond. Kids often make the mistake of not taking a strong and thoroughly argued position on their subject. We teach your kids how to write persuasively so they can successfully lead, motivate, inspire, and achieve their goals.
Textual Analysis
This is often required in high school and always at the college level. A textual analysis is a review of someone else’s work to determine the purpose of that work and if the author achieved their purpose. A book or product review is an example of this kind of essay. This type of essay teaches your kids independent thinking skills that will help them make their own objective judgements and decisions.
Expository Essay
In our expository essay, we teach students to explain a concept or process. This essay type is needed whenever kids are asked to give an objective explanation of a topic or write a "how to" essay. With strong expository writing skills, your kids will become confident communicators that can hold attention and educate others.
