How About That Summer Bucket List?

By Lily Iatridis  August 26, 2016

Summer bucket list

No matter how much or how little time you have left before school starts, it’s time to take to take that last look at your summer bucket list.

You started summer with lots of things you wanted to do on your own or with the family, including fun activities with the family, or projects around your home, school, or community. After all, with every change in season, we take a fresh look and try new things, especially as our kids grow and change.

So how did you do? What did you try or get done, and where did you fall short? Stop and take a look — but with no negative judgment. Life gets busy after all!

And then…

Pick one thing or two things on your list that didn’t quite happen, that can be done in a short amount of time, and take action. Do it! Is it visiting your aunt? Writing those thank you notes? Seeing an outdoor movie? Going to the mountains or the beach? Whatever you decide to do, save the most fun one for last.

Need a few ideas? Take a look at Country Living's, “15 Things You Need to Do Before Summer Ends” for some simple and inexpensive activities. These could easily become summer traditions for your family.

Give your kids an experience to write about as summer ends. End your summer with a celebration, not a whimper!
